Online streaming of content has grown since the pandemic, and it is still on the same page. People nowadays watch less on DTH and more on online streaming platforms like YouTube or Netflix. If you are in the search for best TV for YouTube in India, then here we will discuss that in detail.
Before getting into details let me answer one of the common question that people may have in their mind.
Best TV for Youtube
LG Smart OLED 48A2PSA
- 48 Inch Screen
- Dolby Atmos support
- 2 USB ports
- 4 HDMI ports
- OLED panel
- 4K resolution
Let’s begin with an OLED which falls under, 80000 Rs in India. LG is one of the top manufacturers of OLED panels and if you want an OLED TV then LG is the brand to go with.
They support all the apps like YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and Hotstar.
This model is one of the new launched in the OLED TV segment from LG. It comes with 4K resolution and there is an upscaler built in.
An upscaler will help in increasing the resolution in case the played content is 1080P, and it will upscale it to 4K.
In my personal experience, the upscaling from LG TV’s are the best. In terms of features, we get Wi-Fi and 3 HDMI ports, which you can use to connect devices like set-top boxes and blue ray players.
2 USB ports are available in this TV so that you can connect external HDD or pendrive to enjoy movies and also install apps.
With the included eARC support, this TV can be controlled using a single remote when connected to a home theatre.
As I had mentioned earlier, we get Dolby Atmos support here, which will take your entertainment to another level.
It comes with the LG’s own AI ThinQ which is smart enough to list out your favourite content in home screen from youtube.
Samsung The Frame TV
- QLED panel
- 40 W speakers
- HDR 10+
- Custom frames
- 120HZ refresh rate
- 4K resolution
Samsung frame TV is one of the best-selling QLED TVs in India due to its looks and the features on offer. It will provide a minimal looking setup to any room it is placed.
Screen size that you get here are 55 inches, which is good for a large hall.
Compared to the LG TV that we checked earlier, the QLED panel used here is brighter, which makes it suitable for rooms which lot of ambient lighting.
This is the second generation of The Frame TV from Samsung, and they have improved the panel quality here.
I have used this TV and in my personal opinion, no other TVs in the market offer such customization options as this one. You can get separate borders for the panel, matching your room color.
When hung on the wall it looks like a paining as we get dedicated picture arts as screensavers.
The 4K panel used here is crystal clear, and it supports 120HZ. This would be great for watching videos on YouTube and also 4K movies from Netflix or Prime video.
The speaker system here is 40W, which provides some great output with room filling sound. Samsung has added surround sound system here for immersive experience.
HDR 10 will be suitable for video that support HDR on YouTube. TV automatically switches to this mode when it detects HDR content.
Sony Bravia KD-55X75K
- 55 inch screen
- 4K resolution
- 60Hz refresh rate
- Dolby Audio
- 20W speaker
TVs that run stock Android TV OS are limited in Indian market.
The advantage here is all the apps that are supported by Google run here without any issue. Sony is a brand which sells TVs with Android TV OS.
You can sideload apps here using the USB slot.
Just download the app from the internet and install it into the TV.
One thing to point out here is while installing apps please check if the app is not corrupt as it may damage the TV.
The 4K panel used here is LED backlit and has a resolution of 4K. We get a 60hz refresh rate. All the Sony TV’s that I have used have proven to be great in terms of life and picture quality.
This TV comes with a 20 watts speaker output which is good enough for a small room, but I feel, it would have been better if they had included at least a 40 watts speaker here.
Dolby Audio is added, but no Dolby Atmos.
Being a Google TV, we get Chromecast support here so that you can cast the content directly from the phone.
Sony has added a dedicated processor here in the X1 for rendering better image output on the screen.
With the included motion flow, we get smooth frame rates in any kind of scenes. One thing I felt was the refresh rate is limited here compared to other TV’s that we have added.
Vu 4K Ultra HD Smart Android LED TV 55UT
- 55 Inch screen
- VA panel used
- Dolby Vision
- DTS virtual X sound
- 30W speakers
- 60 Hz refresh rate
VU has gained in popularity in TV segment in India with budget pricing and features on offer. They have some good quality panel and in my experience, VU TVs are value for money.
The 55UT is one of the best-selling 55-inch TV from VU. It has 4K resolution and 60Hz refresh rate which is great, but a better refresh rate is better.
We could not complain much because of the price that this TV is offered.
It comes with 3 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports. HDMI ports are fast here and support 4K resolution support, and USB ports can be used to connect pendrive or HDD.
Speakers are 30 Watts, which when I heard felt great, but they lack in bass. Still good enough in the price segment under 40000.
Other features like DTS Virtual-X surround sound and TrueBass HDX compensates with the speaker wattage.
When it comes to OS versions, we get Android TV 9.0 pie, and it has Google Play Store so that you can search for any Android TV apps and install it.
Having HDR 10 makes it a good options for people who watch more Netflix and Hulu. If you consider this as a TV for YouTube in India, then it could be a perfect budget option.
Dedicated game mode adds more value to the TV. I was able to play high-end titles like Tomb Raider and GTA 5 with no issues.
Even though there were some tearing in few cases but still it was a great experience.
Hisense Android LED TV 55A73F with Youtube and Netflix
- 55 inch screen
- 4K resolution
- 60Hz refresh rate
- 3 HDMI ports

Another popular brand in TV segment which comes with YouTube and Netflix is Hisense. They have many TVs in the market running Android TV OS.
Like other TV’s that we have listed here, this model also comes in 4K resolution and has a refresh rate of 60Hz.
It comes with 3 HDMI ports to connect devices like set-top box and gaming consoles. 2 USB ports for Pendrive and HDD connection.
In my personal opinion, this TV excels in one department that is sound, It has a speaker wattage of 102 watts.
Having a 6 speaker system is unique to this TV, and included Dolby Atmos takes things to another level.
With Android pie 9.0 preinstalled, we get access to lakhs of apps in Android TV play store. To talk about specifications, we get a 2 GB RAM here and 16 GB internal storage.
The company has added a quad-core processor here, which keeps the interface smooth.
Considering the price and features on offer, this is one of the best option to consider if you are looking for a TV for YouTube or any online streaming
How to watch Youtube on old tv?
This question can be answered in different ways. It arises as people may already have a TV in home.
It may not be smart enough to install apps but have some options to see online contents like YouTube, Netflix or Hotstar.
The solution for this is possible in two ways
If your old TV have an HDMI port then consider getting a streaming device like the Fire TV stick or Chromecast which will make the process easier with less expense.
ou just need to do the setup and it’s all set.
Second option is, if you have an old CRT TV then, there should be RCA ports in it.
Latest streaming devices come with HDMI ports, but there are converters available in the market which can convert HDMI input to RCA, making the process easy.
The above two methods will easily make your old TV a smart TV. If you are planning to get a new TV and need to know if it supports YouTube or not, then now let’s jump into the main topic here.
To get Youtube or any streaming app installed, you need a smart tv.
Our Pick: LG Smart OLED 48A2PSA
After checking and testing through various TV’s available in the market, we came into conclusion that we need to consider a TV that is in a budget like Under 1 lakh and should have all the great set of features like 4K resolution a high refresh rate display and good panel used.
The other main thing to consider here is the sound quality on offer. When all the above-mentioned factors are in a TV, it could be considered as an all-rounder.
LG Smart OLED 48A2PSA came on top in all the segment, and it falls in a budget segment as well.
If you are planning to get a new TV for YouTube then surely you should check out this model.
What is a Smart TV?
Smart TVs as the name suggest are smart as they have an OS installed in them, usually Android TV OS which makes installing apps easy.
Though which, you can install any apps that you can use for streaming content online.
What type of TV are good for youtube?
YouTube is very advanced now and provide a wide range of streaming options.
You can cast a video from your mobile YouTube app to TV and also directly install the app in a supported TV and login with your Google account and watch the content of similar interest.
So to tell about the type of TV that you should consider for youtube, we should discuss about what kind of content can be seen.
YouTube is one of the biggest media streaming platform on the planet. It has millions of videos and nowadays as content creators are uploading their content in high quality, YouTube has also up its game.
It supports content up to 4K which is great to watch in a large screen TV. So for an immersive experience, you should consider getting a TV which is at-least 43 inches in screen size. This is my personal suggestion.

TV that I am using for Youtube
I like to watch content in big screen with high quality levels. Usually I switch to 4K all the time. This depends on the type of internet connection you have.
My internet connection is stable and have a 100mbps download speeds so a 4K content would play smoothly.
Now coming to the TV, I have always liked OLED displays and feel that they would satisfy me. So I went with the LG C1 OLED TV, which comes with a Web OS interface from LG.
We can install most of the streaming apps in it and enjoy content in 4K.
It’s a great option if you are ready to shell out more than 1.5 lakhs, as there are newer versions like LG C2 available in the market. You can check out our post on LG OLED’s that are best in the market.
Since this falls in a premium segment, I would suggest only if you are willing to spend that much money on a TV.
Else, we can check some of the best TV in the market that are great for YouTube in India.
Before jumping into the options, let me give you an idea on some points that you may need to consider.
Things to consider
TVs are available in various screen sizes and features in the market. As I had mentioned earlier, to enjoy YouTube and other streaming apps to the max, you should go generous with the screen size.
I would suggest getting a 43-Inch 4K TV for a beginning, as it will provide the needed experience that you need. Main things to consider are as follows.
- Screen size
- Panel used
- App support and OS
Let me explain the above mentioned in detail.
Screen size of the TV
This is one of the most important things to consider while getting a TV for YouTube. It is a common question within people as what screen size would be good for a TV.
This depends on some basic factors like size of the room that you are going to place it and also the size you need.
For a small room a 43 inch would be perfect option, If you have a large hall then you can go with 55 to 65 inches.
If you get large screen TV for a small size room, it would create eye strain for you, and also you will feel it to be uncomfortable.
Since we are planning to see YouTube or stream other services, we need to consider a 4K resolution.
Most online streaming platforms support 4K resolution and to be frank, in my personal experience, once you start seeing 4K you will not like lower resolutions like 1080P or full HD.
Features attract customers, and people always need more features in the product that they purchase.
When it comes to a smart TV, some of the common features that people consider are Chromecast support, Google Assistant, Alexa support, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
These features will make your TV experience better. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are a very much needed feature nowadays as they can provide theater like experience at home.
Using Chromecast, you will be able to cast the content from your phone directly to the TV with a button press.
As I had mentioned earlier, I like OLED panels in a TV. But due to the price, we can consider getting and LED or QLED. QLED is almost as good as an OLED.
One advantage that QLED has over OLED is that an QLED TV can have more brightness.
If the room that you are going to place the TV is very bright or has a window directly opposite to the position of the TV, then a QLED would be a better option to consider.
VA panels are also very famous now in the market. QLED is comparatively pricier than VA so for a budget segment TV, you should consider a VA or QLED panel.
App Support and OS
OS available on the TV is one of the crucial factor to consider as we are looking to stream content online via YouTube or Netflix.
Keeping this in mind, I would suggest getting a TV that runs Android TV OS would be suitable as it would support all needed streaming platforms.
There are other options as well like WebOS from LG which support all the platforms and Tizen OS form Samsung.
The advantage of having Android TV OS is that, you will be able to side load apps in case this does not come preinstalled.
Just need to download an APK file from the internet and put it in a pendrive and connect it to the USB port of the TV.
Once you enable Unknown sources option, its all done and you can enjoy the app.
Price of the TV
This is the deciding factor anyway. People first want to know the price of any product and when it comes to TV, getting a good config means the price is expected to be high.
If you need a high-end TV so that you can enjoy the best experience then consider going above 1 lakh Rupees else at least 50000 to 60000 Rs would get you a TV with all features that you may need.
Let’s check some options that would be suitable for you.
