Once you click on the link, a QR code will be generated, which you may need to scan using the new iPhone. The transfer process will start and will complete based on the data size on your WhatsApp in the main phone.
Advantages of Transfer chats to iPhone feature without iCloud
The main advantages that people who use iPhone will be the faster switching of iPhones. Earlier, the chats needed to be synced with iCloud and transferred to a new phone, but direct transfer will make the process easy.
Another advantage here is that for users who have free iCloud account, the storage space is limited to 5 GB. With a lot of Chats, Photos and Videos in backup, the cloud storage will get filled soon. This new feature will remove that limitation and make it easier.
